For an e-signature to be legally binding with the CRA, it must be linked to a unique individual identity. We cannot send signature requests for two different people to a single email address.
TaxFolder masks your Social Insurance Number (e.g., XXX-XXX-123) on the browser for security. The underlying file sent to the CRA contains the full number.
For the best experience, use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Internet Explorer is not supported and may cause the signature boxes to disappear.
Click “Forgot Password?” on the login screen. Note: Check your “Promotions” or “Spam” folder if the reset email does not appear within 5 minutes. The sender will be “TaxFolder.”
Your portal is a permanent archive. You can log in to find your 2021, 2022, and 2023 returns at any time. We recommend downloading a copy for your own backup, but we will keep them here indefinitely.
You can, but it slows down the process significantly. If you wet-sign (ink), you must scan the entire document back to us. Electronic signing is instant, eco-friendly, and creates a cleaner digital audit trail.
Yes. TaxFolder meets all CRA guidelines for electronic signatures on T183 (Personal) and T183 CORP (Business) forms.
Yes. The portal is fully mobile-responsive. You can take a photo of a receipt with your phone camera and upload it directly to the “My Documents” tab.
